The SEP pack ‘Radiation in the Environment’ focuses on a scientific
understanding of the effects of radioactivity and microwave radiation, and on
interpreting media reporting and people’s attitudes towards these issues.
The student activities are grouped into three sections: ‘What the papers
say’, ‘Radiation: examining the evidence’ and ‘Radiation
and risk: what do you think?’ (Mainly KS4)
See below for the practical resources that have been identified and developed
specifically for use with the activities in this booklet.
Further resources can be downloaded from the 'Radiation
in the Environment' page on the SEP
website, including an electronic version of the booklet. (Access
is for SEP Teacher Associates - this scheme is free
to join for science teachers and technicians in UK secondary schools.) |
