The SEP booklet ‘Seeing Beyond the Visible’ looks at the use of
silicon-based sensors and imaging software, and how they can be used to obtain
and manipulate infrared and visible images. The booklet provides an accessible
overview of the theory behind imaging, and includes some ideas and suggestions
for activities that provide students with hands-on experience of imaging and
the nature of visible and infrared radiation. (Mainly KS4; some activities can
be adapted for KS3)
See below for the practical resources that have been identified and developed
specifically for use with the activities in this booklet.
Further resources can be downloaded from the 'Seeing beyond the visible' page on the SEP
website, including an electronic version of the booklet. (Access
is for SEP Teacher Associates - this scheme is free
to join for science teachers and technicians in UK secondary schools.) |
