The SEP booklet ‘Radiation and Communication’ looks at the priciples
behind devices such as remote controls, mobile phones, televisions and radios
- what these all have in common is that electromagnetic radiation is used to
send messages. The activities use a range of specially designed kits that illustrate
how messages can be transmitted and received, and cover the spectrum from visible
light and infrared radiation, to microwave radiation and radio waves. (Mainly
KS4)
See below for the practical resources that have been identified and developed
specifically for use with the activities in this booklet.
Further resources can be downloaded from the 'Radiation and Communication' page on the SEP
website, including an electronic version of the booklet. (Access
is for SEP Teacher Associates - this scheme is free
to join for science teachers and technicians in UK secondary schools.) |
